The Civil service institute (CSI) and UNICEF organized five-day training on Human resource management for Human resource department staff from UNICEF counterparts of Governmental institutions. The participated staff specifically comes from Ministry of Water Resource Development, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs and Family, Ministry of National Planning and Development, Ministry of Interior, and Somaliland National Aids Commission. The training was conducted on 14th to 18th July 2019 at civil service institute campus from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Thirteen participants fully attended for the five days, seven out of these thirteen were female whilst the five out these thirteen were male.
A CSI Senior staff member developed this tailored HRM training presentation. The training aims for providing basic understand on core HRM functions, performance management system, and training and development system. The session was more interactive and delivered in participant centric approach.
The overall objective of the HRM training was to provide participants basic understanding Human resource management and provide an interactive exercise that allows them to think and connect to their HR Department responsibilities and specific roles and duties. The course content that was covered during the five days included in; Overview of Human resource management, Job Analysis and design, and Human Resource Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Performance management and Training and Development, and Employees relations.
