Jubaland Dervish forces in conjunction with Danab Commandos conducted an operation in the West of Kismayo which targeted Al-shabab militants who were stationed nearby Barjaale settlement.
A senior Military officer named Dek Abdirahman who gave an interview to Radio Kulmiye and provided details of the operations that Jubaland forces in conjunction with Danab Commandos conducted. He told that they eliminated Al-shabab fighters.
Dek said that Jubaland forces and Danab Commandos inflicted heavy casualties on the militant group of Al-shabab including deaths and injuries.
He told that fierce fighting ensued between allied troops and Al-shabab fighters yesterday in the outskirts of the port city of Kismayo, Jubaland’s administrative capital.
He said: “The fighting took place in the West of Kismayo, and we inflicted heavy casualties on Al-Shabab including deaths and injuries.”
He further disclosed that they captured Al-Shabab fighters and removed from the trenches they were hiding. The allied troops seized weapons, and combat vehicles as confirmed by the officer who spoke on behalf of Jubaland Dervish Forces.
He said: “There are 48 Al-shabab fighters we killed and others we captured them alive . We also seized many weapons. The operation was jointly conducted by Danab Commandos in conjunction with Jubaland Dervish forces.”
Tension is running high, and Danab Commandos and Jubaland Dervish forces continue to carry out operations against Al-Shabab in Lower Jubba region.
