The leader of Ma’awsiley forces in Somalia, Ali Jeyte Osman, has strongly criticized the Hawiye clans when it comes to the ongoing war against the militants of Al-Shabab which is underway in certain provinces in Somalia.
He said that Hawiye clans are observing Hawadle clan that is engaged a war with Al-shabab militants for the past couple of years.
He said: “The war we engaged with Al-Shabab militants, some of Hawiye clans are not supporting us. Once we chase the enemies, Hawiye clans give them a sanctuary. We are not even allowed to pursue them. Let alone to get a support, some of the officials have insulted us through the media.”
He further stated that the only way to defeat Al-Shabab militants is to unite and that Hawiye clans must support the ongoing war against Al-Shabab militants.
He said: “Hawiye clans are observing when your people are being killed, shame on you. Let us unite when it comes to the enemy. We have a plan in place which is to eliminate the terrorist groups from the country. If this meeting is a real one which is aimed to liberate Al-Shabab militants from the land of Hawiye clans. For instance, let alone Hawiye clan, Hawadle clans are not united when it comes to the fighting which is underway in Aboorey settlement, and that is giving an advantage to the militant group of Al-Shabab.”
Ali Jeyte Osman made the remarks in a meeting that brought together Hawiye clans which was part of the ongoing support when it comes to the fight against terrorist groups the likes of Al-Shabab.
