Reports from Middle Shabelle province say that the situation is tense in Jowhar, the administrative capital of Hirshabelle state after Al-Shabab militants were seen there.
Reliable sources confirmed that Al-shabab militants started movement of troops and local residents in settlements nearby Jowhar felt the group’s mobilization.
Hirshabelle state authority got the information of movement of Al-Shabab fighters and put in place measures to tighten the security.
Hirshabelle authority deployed additional troops stationed in checkpoints in Jowhar so as to heighten security of the regional capital.
Hirshabelle security forces reinforced their presence in the outskirts of Jowhar where they conduct operations which are aimed to bolster security.
During the operation, Hirshabelle security forces nabbed four people suspected of having links with the militant group of Al-Shabab.
Tension is running high and local residents told that they have seen troops patrolling in the outskirts of Jowhar and were maintaining security.
Hirshabelle officials have not so far spoken of the situation where both Al-Shabab and security forces of Hirshabelle started movement of troops.
