A high level delegation headed by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E Mahmoud Ali Yousuf is expected to arrive in Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital on Sunday.
The Somali Federal Gov’t officially invited the AU Chairperson to come to Mogadishu.
Preparations are at full swing to receive the head of African Union Commission Chairperson.
Somali gov’t tightened security as troops were deployed in the major roads in the capital.
Preparations are also underway at Adden Adde Int’l airport in order to warmly welcome the current AU Chairman and the former minister for Foreign Affairs of Djibouti.
Once he arrives in Mogadishu, he will go to Villa Somalia to hold discussions with senior gov’t officials.
Issues that are high of the agenda of the talks include security as well as the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) will be part of the discussion.
The African Union troops stationed in Somalia are engaged the ongoing battle which are aimed at eliminating the extremist groups from Somalia.
The Somali government sides with Djibouti over the race of the AU Chairperson.
The current AU chairman, Mahmoud Ali Yousuf beat his main rival, the Kenyan opposition leader, Raila Odinga.
