Baidoa– Reports from Baidoa confirm that officers of the Intelligence Agency rescued 4 children that al-shabab militant group forcibly abducted from their families in order to recruit them as child soldiers.
The children were all under 18 years and were kidnapped and transported to Buush Madino district which is al-shabab stronghold in Bay region.
The children who spoke to the local media said that they were abducted while going to school and were taken to place where alshabab militant soldiers were stationed.
One of the children said that he was kidnapped from Rabdhuure district and later al shabab transported him to Buush Madino in order to recruit him as a child soldier.
The other children told local media that they stayed in al shabab stronghold for a couple of days and later escaped. They said that they spent two days to reach a district under the administration of Southwest state.
They called on the president of Southwest state Laftagaren to pardon them and reunite with their families
