WorldRemit founder, Ismail Ahmed, has donated medical supplies whereby Somaliland health ministry officials have received the donations. The Remittance founder pledged a million dollars to Somaliland’s efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19. The donations consist of 100, 000 N95 face masks, 40, 000 regular face masks and 100, 000 hand sanitation kits. More Covid-19 kits donated by WorldRemit philanthropist are to arrive in Somaliland in the days to come. Mr. Ismail, born and raised in Somaliland but was naturalized as UK Citizen where he is currently living and running his online money transfer firm. Somaliland government publicly acknowledged the contributions that Mr. Ismail ha pledged at this difficult time. He did not steal the spotlight during the donations.
