Somalia’s Police Commissioner Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdilahi, flanked by Deputy Police Chief, Osman Abdilahi Mohamed bode farewell to a contingent of Somalia’s police officers who will be deployed to the frontlines to engage in the ongoing battle against the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group of Al-Shabab.
The deployment is part of Somali government’s ongoing efforts to eliminate the terrorist threat and restore peace and stability to the nation.
Speaking to the departing forces, Police Chief Asad expressed his confidence in their abilities and reminded of the gravity of the mission.
He said: ” Al-Shabab represents a group of young, misguided individuals who are driven by fear and have no regard for human life.
