Somaliland leader Musa Bihi Abdi on Tuesday pardoned 365 inmates with petty crimes.
According to the office of the presidency, the released prisoners who are convicted of terrorism, piracy, and murder are excluded from the pardon.
Earlier in April, the Somaliland president pardoned 574 prisoners in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The president has pardoned the prisoners on the occasion of marking the country’s 29th independence anniversary.
Bihi said he invoked Article 90 of the Constitution which grants him powers to pardon prisoners who are not serving sentences for serious crimes.
The office of the attorney general is tasked to enforce the presidential decree.
