In a gathering with Somaliland President Abdirahman Irro on Monday, governors from various provinces of the country convened to reinforce peace, enhance local investments and advancing developments across diverse sectors.
Issues that were high on the agenda of the talks include:-
- Security and stability across all provinces.
- Economic development and investment.
- Enhancing social services
- Preparedness for disasters and providing relief and recovery support to drought impacts.
- Good-Governance, accountability and working with all community sectors.
President Irro emphasized the importance of fostering strong connection with the populace. He called on the governors to work towards unifying the community by reinforcing peace and stability which is a number one priority of the current administration spearheaded by President Irro. He told governors that they are responsible to speak on his behalf as representing his government in the province. Finally, the president urged governors to execute their duties as diligently as they can. He also called on them to implement the development projects that the current administration pledged to deliver to the populace.
