According to reports, Ma’awisley fighters conducted a well-coordinated raid on an al-shabab stronghold in El Buur, a district in central Somalia’s Galgudud province. The attack was conducted on later Monday night by local militia fighters, specifically targeting the residence of al-shabab commander who is in charge of operations in the town. Reports further say that the militia inflicted casualties on the militant group. The exact death toll is unconfirmed as far as the raid is concerned. Ma’awisley forces safely returned to their barracks without sustaining losses. Al shabab put pressure on local civilians in El Buur in the wake of the attack. This is the second time Ma’awisley fighters conducted a direct offensive against al-shabab positions in El Buur, The district remains under al-shabab control despite counter terrorism efforts by the Somali government forces and aligned militias.
