Hargeisa-11-05-2022 – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi, attended the graduation ceremony of 3,000 students, the first batch of students to study the Constitution and Civic Education of the Republic of Somaliland, under the auspices of the Ministry of Parliamentary Relations and the Constitution Affairs.
The graduation ceremony was held at the University of Hargeisa, and was attended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Somaliland, Rt. Hon. Abdirizak Khalif Ahmed, Members of the Cabinet, Parliamentarians, Heads of Universities, Politicians, Academics, Civil Society Members and other members of the public, graduating students and other VIP Dignitaries, with speeches on the importance of learning about the Constitution and civic Education of Republic of Somaliland.
First of all, the Director General of the Ministry of Parliamentary Relations and Constitutional Affairs, Ms. Deeqa Abdi Yusuf, who opened the event, explained in depth the importance of educating young people about the Constitution and civic Education and the role that the Ministry has played in this efforts and would bear fruit today.
The President of Amoud University Prof. Suleiman Saleban Ahmed and the Chairman of the Higher Education Council , Prof. Saleban Abdi Dirir, Speaking at the event, explained the importance of educating the youth of each country on the values of civic Education and full understanding of their Constitution, and commended the large number of students who have graduated today.
The Special Envoy of Somaliland on talk between Somaliland and Somalia Hon. Edna Adan, described it as a national achievement that today such a large number of young people in the country, who have studied the Constitution and Civic Education as great value for Somaliland and has called on the people of Somaliland to work together for the peace and stability of the country.
The Minister of Parliamentary Relations and the Constitution Affairs of the Republic of Somaliland, Rt. Hon. Mohamed Haji Aden Elmi who addressed the gathering, first of all sincerely commended the young people who have studied the Constitution and Civic Education, and the efforts as a Ministry has critically played to bring these young people into today first national Ceremony . Rt. Hon. Elmi stated, they have produced young people today who are satisfied with the values of patriotism and the meaning of the Constitution.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirizak Khalif Ahmed, also commended the young people who have studied the Constitution and Patriotism, and commended the Ministry of Parliamentary Relations and the Constitution Affairs for the steps they have taken and the efforts of the youth in the country to make them citizens uphold their Constitution.
