Ministry of Agriculture Development in collaboration with Int’l Cooperation & Development Fund (ICDF), & Taiwan Representative Office in the Rep. of Somaliland launched yesterday a project which is aimed at developing farming production in Somaliland.
The project entails setting up a pilot farm, training farmers and staffers at the ministry of agriculture which also aims to improve farming production in Somaliland.
Speaking on the occasion, the director general, Roble Abdi Muse, said that the development of farming in Somaliland is a top priority for the National Development Plan under the leadership of President Musa Bihi Abdi.
The objective of the projects also aims the following:-
- Setting up a farm in order to showcase modern farming with quality production and where trainings will be conducted.
- Trainings will be provided to staffers at the Ministry of Agriculture.
- Farmers will also be trained.
The DG reiterated that the project will be beneficial to Somaliland as a nation.
Taiwan Deputy Representative said this clearly reflected the commitment of the Government of Taiwan in supporting, both financially and technically, the development of vegetable production in Somaliland.
He also thanked SL government for its cooperation.
The project upgrades vegetable production in Somaliland to be modernized and meets with international standards in terms of quality.
