The Minister in charge of housing and public works denies reports of Hargeisa main bridge on the brink of collapse.
Hon. Abdirashid Du’ale Qambi was on working visit to Borama, Awdal’s regional capital and decided to cut short his trip and abruptly returned to Hargeisa and later embarked upon an impromptu visit to Hargeisa main bridge in order to inspect the condition as reports were spread like wild fire that the bridge is on the verge of collapsing.
The major concrete pillars of the bridge are 18 meters deep in the ground as reported by ministry officials during the trip. The Director General of the ministry, Hon. Elmi Abdirahman Ashur urged the public to cease the spreading of false news
