Somalia extends ban on all flights

The Somali Govt extended a ban on all flights into the country’s airports to curb the spread of Covid-19.  The Transport & Civil Aviation Minister that the government is trying to avoid coronavirus resurgence in areas that the virus is vanishing or to break out areas where the virus has not been seen if travel restrictions are lifted from provinces. Mr. Mohamed Abdilahi Salad aka Omar has not fixed a clear date for lifting ban on flights. The plan was that all flight bans will be lifted on the 30th of this month according to Somali govt. Somalia imposed ban on both international and domestic flights in a bid to contain the spread of the deadly novel Covid-19 pandemic in the country. The ministry said the measure will not apply to relief, cargo, medical evacuation and specially-approved flights. The ban had a heavy toll on the country’s economy as all travel offices in Somalia remain closed
