Somali Troops Conduct planned operation in villages nearby Daynuunay settlement in Bay region

The Somali National Army (SNA) particularly the 8th Battalion and the 60th Division in conjunction with Southwest State Dervish forces conducted a planned operation targeting Al-Shabab militants that were stationed in Kuraaw-rooge and Dhanbalka villages which are under the administration of Daynuunay settlement in Bay region.

The Somali troops destroyed positions that the militant group set up in the villages where they plot acts of insecurity.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdirahman Nishow Ali and the Commander of Dervish forces lieutenant Awil Ibrahim Abdilahi told that the objective of the operation was to ensure the security, eradication of terrorist groups and to strengthen the state building in the settlement.

The Commanders said that the local residents cooperated well with the security forces which facilitated the operation to be carried out easily.
