Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokri and Director of General Intelligence Service (GIS) Abass Kamel will head to Ethiopia on Monday to transfer President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s message to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
Official Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry’s Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zaid said that the meeting would discuss bilateral Egyptian-Ethiopian relations and developments on negotiations for the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
Abu Zaid added that the meeting would also discuss developments in establishing an infrastructure fund between Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan to enhance cooperation in development projects and regional developments in the Horn of Africa area, along with ways of supporting peace and stability in this vital area.
