Qatar Constructs new embassy in Somalia

The Gulf state of Qatar is constructing a new embassy in Mogadishu which is sign of recovery for the Somali capital after decades of turbulent conflict.

Once the embassy building is completed, it will be the second largest embassy in Somalia besides the Turkish embassy which is the largest.

Qatar Development Fund started to implement number of projects in Somalia in 2019.

The Gulf rich state had donated a fleet of 68 armored vehicles last year.

Qatar also airlifted victims of an al-Shabab terrorist attack from Mogadishu to Doha for an emergency medical treatment.

Qatar is also building a strategic new seaport at Hobyo on the Red Sea coast.
