Puntland Vice President, Ilyas Osman Lugatoor on Tuesday received in his office the Acting Special Representative of the Secretary General, the Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia, George Conway.
During the meeting, the discussion between the two sides focused on the development projects that the United Nation is implementing in Puntland.
The two sides further discussed ways to strengthen the cooperation based on the stability, providing relief to vulnerable people and improving the basic services.
Puntland Vice President expressed deep thanks and appreciations the role the UN plays when it comes to the support of the Somali populace particularly the Internally Displaced People (IDP’s) in Puntland.
On his side, George Conway confirmed that the UN will continue the efforts to standby the people in Puntland.
He pledged to expedite crucial plans which are aimed to deliver aid to the vulnerable communities, and to ensure the authority to cope with the humanitarian crisis.
The meeting was part of the efforts which are aimed to ensure the working cooperation between Puntland and Int’l agencies in order to reach lasting development and to find a resolution to the current problems.
