The 3rd Battalion of Puntland defense forces captured a foreign fighter who is a member of ISIS militant group that were defeated in the ongoing operations in Al-Miskaad Mountain Range in Bari region.
The foreign fighter is said to be Turkish by nationality. He was captured while he was fetching water from a well that lies in Togga Baalade while he was armed with AK47 as confirmed by commanders who were leading the operation.
One of the commanders who led the operation dubbed Hilaac told that the man was shouting in Somali “ Do not kill me” once he was captured.
On the other hand, Puntland defense forces on Friday conducted a planned operation in Adayle settlement which is under Togga Baalade. Puntland defense forces killed 15 ISIS fighters- most of them were Somali by nationality.
Airstrikes and ground assaults were conducted in which Puntland troops managed to drive out ISIS remnants from the trenches that they were hiding in Adayle settlement which lies 26 km South of Bosaso. Reports say that ISIS defense lines were destroyed in Adayle settlement.
