President receives diplomatic credentials of the first Ambassador of the UAE to Somaliland

SL President H.E Musa Bihi Abdi, received diplomatic credentials from the first Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Somaliland, Abdulla Alnaqbi. The ambassador presented his letter of credence on assuming his role as ambassador to Somaliland, in an official ceremony held at the president’s office. The new UAE representative to Somaliland conveyed greetings from top UAE officials to Somaliland President. He also thanked for the warm and cordial reception that he was accorded to. SL Head of State has said that the envoy has arrived in Somaliland which values brotherhood and collaboration coupled with development and bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Bihi also briefed the envoy on the democracy that Somaliland embraced for the past 30 years after its recapture from its independence from Somalia in 1991. Somaliland is gearing up to hold parliamentary and local council polls on 31st May, 2021. Last but not least, president Bihi has thanked UAE for its boosting the ties between the two sides which has existed for ages. He said that the UAE was the first country decided to invest in Somaliland and implemented many development projects since UAE-Somaliland ties consolidated.
