President Mulatu Leaves For Ghana To Attend Funeral Service Of Kofi Annan

Addis Ababa, September 12, 2018 (FBC) – President Mulatru Teshome has left for Accra, Ghana to attend the final funeral service of the late former UN secretary General Kofi Annan.

A burial service will take place tomorrow at the Conference Centre before he is finally laid to rest at the new Military Cemetery.

Kofi Annan, who was the 7th Secretary General of the UN, died at the age of 80 in Switzerland three weeks ago after a short illness.

He was the first black African to work as UN Secretary-General. He was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize.
