Reports from Hararta settlement which lies between Ceel Hareeri settlement and Adan Yabal district say that fierce fighting broke out between local Ma’awisley forces and Al-shabab militants.
Reports further indicate that heavy casualties were inflicted on Al-shabab militants.
As reported by the state-run media, the local Ma’awisley forces carried a planned operation in which they chased Al-Shabab militants who started movements in Hararta settlement which locates between Adan Yabal district in Middle Shabelle province and Ceel Hareeri settlement in Hiiraan region.
Officers leading the local Ma’awisley forces told the Somali National Army (SNA) Radio that they killed 10 Al-Shabab militants and seized ten guns.
The local Ma’awsiley forces thwarted the attacks that the militant group were planning there.
The Deputy Minister of Information of the Somali Federal Gov’t, Abdirahman Sheikh Yusuf Al Adaala posted on his Facebook account that the brave local Ma’awisley forces jumped over several Al-Shabab corpses.
He said: “Thank you, Hiiraan local residents, as you teach Al-shabab militants who you are. You are a defense an encouragement for all Somalis. Al-Shabab militants will keep remembering the corpses that you jumped over.”
Ma’awisley forces are currently in control of the area where they conducted the operation targeting Al-Shabab militants.
The Ma’awisley forces are chasing the fleeing Al-shabab militants according to the state run media.
