Head of Somaliland’s Coast Guard, Admiral Ahmed Hurre Hariye, on Sunday, held a high level meeting defense attaché of UK embassy in Kenya, Captain James Edwards.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen the working cooperation between Somaliland’s coast guards and that of the UK government.
The two sides also discussed that the UK should increase trainings given to Somaliland coast guards.
UK officials said that they are committed to support Somaliland coast guard in the areas of trainings and offering expertise to upgrade the knowledge of the coast guards of Somaliland.
Head of Somaliland Coast Guard expressed deep thanks and appreciations to the UK officials for coming to Somaliland.
He said that Somaliland is keen to establish close working cooperation between Somaliland and that of the UK.
