JIGJIGA–Ethiopia’s Somali Region has barred all clan meetings on politics which will take effect from today. The president of Ethiopia’s Somali region, Mr. Mustafe Mohamud Omar aka Cagjar has announced the ban in a press conference that he held in his office on Friday. He stated that the meetings which are intended to disrupt the government and the development will not be allowed to transpire. He added that the ban is in line with the region’s laws and constitution and is not a new lay which is going to be enforced now. Mr. Mustafe has asserted that individuals can hold gathering and can talk about the state’s politics. He said that ban will be applicable to parties and groups who come together and hold clan based meetings and talk about political issues.
