A ship carrying 8 Liebherr rubber tyred gantry cranes destined for Berbera port docked the port last night.
This was disclosed by Berbera port General Manager, Said Hasan.
Berbera port authority ordered the equipment last year.
The GM said that 3 STS Gantry Cranes will be scheduled to arrive the port of Berbera terminal in Somaliland.
The cranes have the capacity to handle six containers plus a truck lane wide and can stack one container over five high.
Berbera port was taken over by Dubai Ports World after Somaliland government entered into agreement with the DPW.
