Two men defected from Al-shabab in Jamame, surrender to Jubaland security forces

Two young men, armed with guns, surrendered to Somali Military and Jubaland security forces stationed in Baar-Sanguuni, Lower Jubba region, yesterday. According to an official statement from Danab, the two men surrendered to the Danab Commandos, the 43rd Division of SNA, and Jubaland security forces. The statement also mentioned that the men were carrying AK47 and PKM weapons and had defected from Magaanbow settlement, where Al-Shabab fighters were hiding. Magaanbow settlement is one of several settlements located on the bank of the Jubba River, falling under the jurisdiction of Jamame district. The two men who surrendered to Jubaland security forces in Baar-Sanguuni have been identified as Ahmed Mustafe Adan and Ismail Adan Ibrahim. Jubaland TV reported that the security forces were in contact with the defected members in order to facilitate their surrender. Currently, allied troops are conducting security operations in settlements under the jurisdiction of Jamaame district, where Al-Shabab fighters have dug trenches to defend the district.
