The Minister of Internal Affairs Hon. Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, laid the foundation stone for the Industrial Zone in Marodi Jeeh Region, in an event held at the planned site in Hargeisa.
In an event held Sunday 10th September 2022, which was attended by members of the Council of Ministers and the Mayor of Hargeisa, Minister Kahin spoke and explained about the importance of industries as a nation, which play a major role in the development of the country. He thanked the Minister of Investment and Industry and the Mayor of Hargeisa for facilitating the event.
On the other hand, Hon. Kahin noted also that the resources in our country, such as minerals, fuel, agriculture and livestock are abundant and called on the community to take advantage of the resources in the country and harness it.
He said that the mountains, ravines and valleys belong to the government and no one can claim them.
Minister Kahin said that oil exploration in Sarar region, led by Genel Energy, is at its final stage, and it is a great success for the country and our people. On the other hand, he said that the well that was dug in Sallahley is believed to be having oil, and the Ministry of Mines is in control.
