Yesterday, the Gorgor Commandos of the Somali National Army (SNA) conducted a security operation in settlements under the jurisdiction of the Raage Elle district in Middle Shabelle province. The purpose of the operation was to maintain the security of the locals and stabilize the entire area. The operation was planned and led by the 18th Brigade of Gorgor Commandos, as confirmed by Deputy Commander Colonel Khadar Ahmed Abdi. The Commander stated that the operation focused on the villages of Gayfo, Boscadur, and Yonbar, located in the north of Raage Elle district. During the operation, security forces searched for landmines to ensure road safety and protect important areas used by civilians and vehicles. This measure aimed to prevent atrocities committed by terrorist groups, who often plant landmines on roads to target civilians and security forces. The officers leading the operation emphasized the importance of gaining the trust of the local population and ensuring the peaceful movement of people and trade. The Military Command reiterated their commitment to continue such security operations in order to maintain peace and security in the area.
