Somali National Army (SNA) in collaboration with international partners carried out airstrikes on the outskirts of Harboole area in the Afmadow District of the Lower Juba region, targeting members of the Al-Shabaab militants.

Reports from the area indicate that the airstrike followed a planned operation conducted by Danab Commando Forces of the Somali National Army, in coordination with international partners.

During the operation, an Al-Shabaab unit responsible for planting mines was reportedly neutralized; the group had been engaged in preparing and laying explosive devices targeting roads used by the Somali civilians and vehicles.

The operation is part of the ongoing efforts by Danab Forces and international partners in the Lower Juba region aimed at degrading Al-Shabaab’s capabilities and ensuring safety and freedom of movement.

The forces are also reported to be continuing operations against Al-Shabaab militants to ensure security and stability across the region.
