Southwest State authority on Wednesday said that fierce fighting took place in Sabiid and Anoole settlement in Lower Shabelle province.
The authority disclosed that heavy defeat was inflicted on the militant group of Al-shabab which commenced movement of troops there.
The deputy minister of security for Southwest State, Mohamed Yusuf who held a press conference in Biadoa pointed out that the operation was successfully completed after the Somali security forces carried out the operation in positions that the militant group of Al-Shabab were regrouping and were planning attacks.
The deputy Minister revealed that at least ten Al-Shabab fighters were killed in the operation and are pursuing Al-Shabab fighters who commenced troop movements in the rural areas in Sabiid and Anoole settlements.
He reiterated that Southwest State will not stop the fight against the militant group of Al-Shabab until the extremist group will be eradicated from South of Somalia.
Finally, the minister stated that there is a need that the residents living in Southwest State to cooperate fully with the security agencies in order these settlements will be peaceful and will be free from the atrocities that the militant group of Al-Shabab commit against the Somali populace.
The Somali Federal Gov’t and Southwest State authority claimed that the security forces reached victories over the last fighting that occurred in Sabiid and Anoole settlement which lasted until last night. They confirmed that heavy defeat was inflicted on Al-shabab.
