The high level delegation led by the chief of security for Ethiopia’s Somali region has been in the capital Hargeisa for the past couple of days on official working visit.
The delegation consisting of senior military officials at Federal and regional levels held separate meetings with Somaliland government officials.
Somaliland President Musa Bihi Abdi received the delegation from Ethiopia’s Somali region at the presidency.
Bihi said that the Somali region will be a bridge that links the regional administrations and the governments of the populaces of the Horn.
Dr. Husein Hashi Qasim, the chief of security for Ethiopia’s Somali administration lauded the progress and Somaliland’s stability.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance the cooperation on the security of border areas and to jointly combat against terrorism.
The two sides also agreed to prevent against the flow of illegal arms smuggling.
The delegation which paid an inspection tour to the port city of Berbera returned to Jigjiga after wrapping up its visit to Somaliland
