Somaliland has reported 11 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, raising the total count of COVID-19 cases to 23, the Ministry of Health said. The health minister Omar Abdilahi Bade said: “All new cases were confirmed after additional samples were taken from 60 people who were suspected of having contracted Covid-19.”   The 11 people are residing in Yufle, Hargeisa, Buroa and Borama. According to a statement issued by the ministry today announced that a third person has succumbed to complication of Covid-19, bringing the total death toll to 3. Health ministry officials are concerned that the public are turning deaf ears to the guidelines provided by the ministry. There is a growing fear that community transmission is the number one mode of spread of Covid-19 in Somaliland. The news cases have no travel history according to the ministry officials.
