A delegation from Somaliland is currently in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital where they are attending a high level meeting on urban development.
The deputy minister responsible for local gov’t and urban development, Mr. Ahmed Omar Haji Abdilahu alias Hamarje, and accompanied by the mayor of Hargeisa, Abdikarim Ahmed Moge, Mayor of Berbera, Abdishakur Idin, the director general of the rehabilitation and humanitarian affairs ministry, Mukhtar Abdi Jama alias Baaho, director general of the ministry of planning, Mohamed Saed Mohamud and the director general of the environment and climate change ministry, Abdi Ali and other officials from the local government attended the international conference organized by City Alliance and Jigjiga University.
The high level conference kicked off in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital yesterday. The officials that attended the conference are the ones that the corridor linking Berbera and Addis Ababa passes through. Issues that were high of the agenda of the conference were regional integration, trade movement, climate change, urban trade and inclusive growth. The conference was attended by officials from major cities in Ethiopia, other officials from African countries and the world.
