Somalia’s President praises NISA units for completing anti-terrorism training

Mogadishu– Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Tuesday bode farewell to units from the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) that recently completed specialized anti terrorism training in Mogadishu.

Turkish security experts conducted the training, and focused on advanced counterterrorism tactics. The specially trained units will join the ongoing operations aimed at flushing out terrorist groups from Somalia.

President Hassan reiterated that the newly trained special forces will play a huge role in the gov’t efforts to incapacitate terrorist networks and bolster national security.

He called on Somalis to rally behind the national army in the fight against extremist groups. He thanked the Turkish government for its continued help in strengthening Somalia’s security sector.

The President called on the units to remains committed to the oath and their duty to defend the country.
