The incumbent Somali PM, Hon. Hamze Abdi Barre on Thursday presided over the graduation of officers and units of the Somali National Army’s elite Gorgor Force who completed various military trainings in Turkey and Turkish Military Training Base, Turksom, in Mogadishu.
He said that the Somali Federal Gov’t is preoccupied to build robust Somali National Army who have comprehensive military knowledge and good leadership in order to ensure the vision of state which will be the basis for Somalia’s Armed Forces.
He pointed out that the defense and the liberation of the country is the number one priority of the army. He said that every soldier has the integrity and special priority.
He said: “The country’s armed forces are the pillars of robust state which is self-sufficient. Therefore, you have to take its responsibility. You have to prepare yourselves to liberate the country from the enemy. You have to restore the value, the integrity and the unity of the Somali populace.”
He urged the officers who completed the training and said that these units will play a huge role in the ongoing efforts of the Somali Federal Gov’t in which it wants to restore the security and fight against terrorist groups who pose a serious threat to the unity of the country.
He expressed deep thanks and appreciations to the brotherly Turkish gov’t and its populace for the constant efforts to stand by the people and the Somali gov’t.
