Somali President Receives former African Football Stars

The Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Wednesday received former African soccer stars who paid a visit to Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital. Sameul Eto’o is the current Chairman of Cameron Football Association. Emanuel Adebayor and Jay-Jay Okocha, who were very popular in the African Soccer, and played Leagues in Europe.

Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed thanks to the African soccer stars for their visit to Mogadishu. He said that this indicates that there is a security and Somali is recovering. He stated that the Somali gov’t is exerting maximum efforts to develop the sports.

He said: “The Somali Gov’t is exerting a lot of efforts in order to develop the sports and to export the talents of the Somali Youth particularly in sports. The Visit that the soccer stars paid to Somalia shows the confidence that the world put on Somalia, and the ongoing progress particularly in integration and encouragement of the youth.”

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohamed Abdikadir Ali, the Chairman of the Somali Football Federation, Ali Abdi Mohamed, the Chairman of South Sudan Football Association, Augustine Maduot Parek and Chairman of Djibouti Football Association, Suleiman Hassan Waberi were in attendance of the meeting.
