Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Thursday embarked on an inspection visit to Turkish vessel dubbed Oruc Reis which was conducting seismic oil exploration in the coastal waters in Somalia. The first phase of seismic oil exploration has been officially wrapped up.
The President of Somali Federal Gov’t has commended Turkish staffers and the cooperation of Turkish efforts pertaining to the strategic oil exploration.
The Somali president demonstrated that the outcome of the seismic oil exploration would improve the economic situation in Somalia and will strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries. He termed the ongoing oil exploration as historic that Somalia achieved.
He said: “This is a huge achievement that will strengthen Somalia’s target which is to fully exploit its natural resources.”
He further went on to say that the gov’t and the people of Turkey are spearheading efforts that Somalia can be invested.
The incumbent Somali President has pointed out the ongoing efforts in which the Somali gov’t is exerting maximum efforts to spur economic growth in the country while exploiting the natural resources that Somalia is rich with, and can ameliorate the economic hardships in the country.
