President names new medical board chief

The President of the Republic H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi has named Dr. Luul Jirde Hussein Duale as the new chairperson of the National Health Professional Board.
In a presidential decree that carried the order hence circulated to the press yesterday, the Head of State replaced the long time occupier of the office Dr. Ahmed Hashi Oday with the new appointment.

He thanked Dr. Hashi for the service he had rendered the nation in the period he headed the office.

Dr. Lula J. Hussein is a Somali Canadian medical doctor who has been supporting the Somaliland National Health Professions Commission (NHPC) since March 2012 as a MIDA Health Northern Somalia (MIDA-FINNSOM) participant. The Somaliland NHPC is a statutory body with the mandate of regulating, accrediting, licensing professionals, and addressing health workforce issues in the country.
