HARGEISA– The incumbent SL President H.E Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi alias Irro who spoke after attending the high level World Governments Summit in Dubai, has said that he passed Somaliland’s quest for an int’l recognition to the delegations that were in attendance of the meeting. The Head of State made the remarks at the presidential palace while speaking to some of the public and officials who received him after returning from the trip to the UAE. The Head of State reiterated that Somaliland has been treated as state that is part and parcel of the int’l community. He said: ” There were two important opportunities while attending the summit. The first was Somaliland was received as other leaders were welcomed. The other chance was that Somaliland was given the opportunity to make its case heard by the int’l community. While representing Somaliland, we passed the message of Somaliland’s quest of an int’l recognition to the world leaders that were in attendance of the high level summit.” He unequivocally stated that he shared with the delegates that Somaliland is a place that is open to do business with the rest of the int’l community. He added that Somaliland remains ready to receive investments from the int’l community. He said that he is hopeful that Somaliland will get investment opportunities after attending the high level meeting in Dubai. He said: ” I am hopeful that many people from the int’l community will come to Somaliland to do business with and invest. We are telling the world that we are a country that existed and was part of the int’l community. we held discussions with delegates from the world on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit. The World Governments Summit is the first high level meeting that Irro attended after assuming the presidency. SL President was given the opportunity to deliver a key note speaker at the summit.
