The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) announced on Tuesday that it had conducted a planned security operation in the Qaahira settlement in the Middle Shabelle province. According to a press release, NISA, in collaboration with international allies, successfully killed seven members of the terrorist group Al-Shabab and destroyed their weapons and hideouts. This operation follows a previous one in the Mahaa Saed settlement, where Al-Shabab leaders were targeted during a meeting. NISA reported that five leaders were killed and three others were seriously injured. The agency is urging Somali citizens living in areas controlled by Al-Shabab to stay away, as they may become targets for the Somali National Army (SNA).
