The first medical supplies donated by Somaliland expats living in China has arrived in the country. The ministers of foreign affairs, the health, and Somaliland head of mission to China have formally received the consignment of medical aid from the expatriates in the handing over ceremony. In a statement, head of SL liason office to China, Awil, thanked the gift donated by the expats, and revealed that many requests were submitted to China for lots of Covid-19 equipment. Awil said, ” The government and the public must unite against the fight of the Covid-19 pandemic. This medical aid is the response of number of requests that we made.” The FM, Yassin Mohamud Faraton also thanked the expats for the generous donations. He disclosed that large equipment which will be used for coping with the disease and treating Covid-19 will be coming. Somaliland government has appealed to the Chinese government to send doctors who are capable of treating and testing of Covid-19. The health minister, Omar Abdilahi Bade was indebted to the expats for the kind donations at this difficult time.
