KISMAYO– Jubaland Security forces on Saturday launched a planned operation in Lafo-Guri district which is under the administration of Dhobley.
Troops nabbed a man by the name of Ma’alin Mohamed who was the deputy chair of al-shabab based court in that district.
Local media told that the operation was carefully planned which led to the killing of 4 al shabab fighters.
The commander who was leading the operation and is based in Dhobley, the lower Jubba region, Colonel Mohamed Haybe, said that there were 20 al-shabab fighters who were hiding in the area.
Jublanad troops killed four during the skirmishes and wounded 2 others.
Those who were killed is among a man who was responsible for al-shabab for extorting monney from the locals.
Jubaland troops have been conducting regular operations which are aimed at flushing out al-shabab remnants from the Jubaland territory.
