A planned security operation was conducted by the director of Jubaland Intelligence and Security Agency (JISA), Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Sabrie Basaam, in the remote Haud area of the sea, specifically in the settlement of Lagta Hola-wajeer, which falls under the jurisdiction of Badhaadhe district in the Lower Jubba region. The operation resulted in a heavy defeat for the Al-Qaeda linked terrorist group, Al-Shabab. The four-day operation, carried out by Jubaland Intelligence and Security Agency, weakened the operational capabilities of the militant group. International allies also conducted air offensives, targeting and destroying explosive-making, logistics, communication, and weapons storage centers belonging to Al-Shabab. These centers were used by the group to plan and carry out attacks against the Somali population, as well as launch attacks in Jubaland and Kenya. According to a press statement issued by Jubaland Intelligence and Security Agency, at least 60 Al-Shabab fighters were successfully eliminated during the operation. The security forces also demolished weapons storage camps, communication and explosive depots, and confiscated hundreds of landmines used by the group. It has been confirmed that 60 Al Shabab bodies were killed, including senior leaders. In addition, a large cache of weapons, including landmines, communication radios, and military equipment, was seized by Jubaland security forces. These weapons were crucial for the group’s operations and are believed to have been used in their recent attack on Kudhaa settlement, which falls under the jurisdiction of Badhaadhe district in the Lower Jubba region. The Jubaland administration expressed deep gratitude to their international partners for providing air support in the fight against terrorist groups.
