Israel’s National Security Council issued a new warning regarding a security threat facing Israelis and Jews outside Israel, including in Somaliland, noting that Houthi militias in Yemen intend to target Israelis traveling to Somaliland.
The National Security Council of Israel highlighted that terrorist groups have stepped up their efforts in targeting Israeli nationals and Jews, as the threat exists in various countries and regions across the world, a report published by i24News said.
The Council has added Somaliland, Jordan, Qatar, and Egypt—including the Sinai Peninsula—to the list of countries of a level 4 travel warning, advising Israeli citizens to completely avoid these countries and locations.
The Report also emphasized that groups including Hezbollah, Hamas, ISIS and Al-Qaeda continue to issue threats and calls against Israelis and Jews.
The Council further added that Houthis have also called for attacks on Israelis in Somaliland and other parts of Africa, citing Israeli’s presence as the reason.
This warning comes as Israel’s National Security Council reports a global rise in attacks carried out by lone actors targeting Israelis and Jews.
