The Ethiopian Consul to Somaliland, Hon. Shamsudin Ahmed Roble arrived yesterday in Hargeisa, Somaliland.
The Ethiopian General Consul arrived at Egal International airport although both Somaliland’s Foreign affairs ministry and Ethiopian counterpart did not speak about the arrival of the consul in Hargeisa.
The consul has not been received by Somaliland foreign affairs ministry officials.
Mr. Shamsudin has replaced the long serving consul general, Mr. Berhe Tesfaye who served as consul in Somaliland for a decade.
The arrival of Ethiopian General Consul will debunk rumors and speculations made by Somali government which claimed that Ethiopia is determined to demote the diplomatic ties with Somaliland.
Mr. Shamsudin, the current Ethiopian General Consul to Hargeisa served as Ethiopian ambassador to Kenya and Djibouti.
