The specially trained Danab Commando forces—specifically the Danab Special unit—conducted a planned operation south of the Leego area in the Bay region.
During the operation, the forces captured two members of the Al-Shabaab militia and seized two AK-47 rifles.
The troops also destroyed a site identified as a location where Al-Shabaab militants prepared explosive devices.
This operation is part of the planned missions government forces are conducting in areas where Al-Shabaab militants are present, targeting the group’s bases and hideouts.
In recent times, Danab Commando forces have played a pivotal role in operations against Al-Shabaab, particularly in special missions targeting the group’s members and facilities.
Danab forces stated that they would continue operations aimed at ensuring security and eradicating the Al-Shabaab militia.
