On Monday, the Cabinet Ministers of Somalia’s Federal Government unanimously approved the dismissal of Mr. Mustafe Sheikh Ali Dhuhulow, the Director General of the Immigration and Citizenship Agency (ICA). They also appointed a new Director General to replace him. The decision to appoint Mr. Hussein Qasim Yusuf was made during a ministerial meeting, following suggestions from the internal security ministry. Mr. Yusuf has previously held positions as the Presidential Affairs Minister of Galmudug from 2017-2026 and as the Chairman of the Committee of Reviewing and Implementing the Constitution. This appointment comes after Mr. Dhuhulow held the position of Director General of the ICA since December 12, 2024, when he officially assumed the office.
