On Wednesday, the ISIS group carried out an explosion targeting a vehicle belonging to Golis Telecom, a telecommunication company operating in Puntland state. This information was confirmed by security sources. The attack resulted in the deaths of four people, including two Golis Telecom employees and two Puntland Dervish soldiers. One soldier sustained serious injuries and is currently in critical condition. Reports suggest that the explosion occurred while Golis Telecom was working to restore telecommunication services in the Al-Miskaad area, after the group had previously destroyed a facility in Sheebaab. This attack serves as a reminder that ISIS is still active in the Al-Miskaad Mountains, despite claims from Puntland officers that they have weakened the group’s operational capabilities. The incident comes after airstrikes killed several ISIS fighters who were responsible for previous explosion attacks and ambushes.
