Reports from Abudwak district in Galguduud region say that fierce fighting broke which caused casualties including deaths and injuries after armed militia launched an attack on the district police station.
The fighting erupted due to prolonged dispute pertaining to the construction of new building in the district police station. According to reliable sources, the squabble is based on which direction that the gate of the new police station will be facing in which the armed militia strongly oppose. The armed militia objected that the gate of the new police station will face the opposite of the hotels and business centers. They have a fear that the security, the economy and the trading in the district will impact in regard to which direction the gate will be facing.
Initial reports say that at least two people were killed while three others were injured in the armed clashes. Tension is running high in the district, and there is a fear of the possibility that fighting will break out once again if there is no urgent political resolution.
